This is the first class for owners of the Pfaff/Viking 5D Embroidery
Extra software where we will get started learning the basics of this
software. You will learn to combine and manipulate embroidery
designs and lettering. You will start to explore the easy to use
express wizards that automatically help you personalize your
garments and quilts. Classes are free of charge if software was
purchased at Cathey’s. A fee of $150 will be charged for classes if
software was purchased elsewhere. ** If you have not received your

class for the owners of the Brother PE-Design software. Learn how to
manage, organize, catalog and convert designs in Design Database.
You will edit/customize designs, add lettering, change color and
stitch order of a design and work with various thread charts.

Exploring MasterWorks

In this class we will do a complete overview of the icons and
sections available with this software. You will become better
acquainted with the all of the functions MasterWorks has to offer.

MasterWorks - Vector Artwork

In this class you will learn why vector artwork provides
smoother lines for creating your designs. We will see how it
compares to bmp and jpeg for digitizing clipart.

MasterWorks - I’ve Had My Fill!

In this class we will teach you the difference between
columns and fills. You will learn how to achieve different looks by
using a variety of angles and colors. There are so many different
ways to create unique designs!

4D Block of the Month
Instructor: Mary Gajeske
Class Fee: $20 per class
Increase your knowledge of the Pfaff/Viking Creative 4D
Embroidery Extra Software. Each month we will create a quilt block
using the many features in the 4D Embroidery Extra and parts of the
4D Embroidery Suite. This will teach you new skills and you will
create beautiful designs using the many shapes, fonts and embroidery
designs that are included with the 4D Embroidery Suite.
You need to have the 4D Embroidery Extra as a minimum. If you don’t
have the entire suite, you will use mine for the parts that you
don‘t have. At the end, you will have twelve blocks to create a
beautiful quilt or project of your choice.
Sign up for a minimum of the first six (6) classes is required.

4D Embroidery Extra Only Block of the Month

4D Software Elements
Our new software education program is called 4D Software
Elements. This is the main picture that is the inspiration for the
entire program.
We will take a single picture file from the main
picture each lesson and create an embroidery file. We will use all
the different elements of the 4D Suite package, however some lessons
will only use single programs like 4D Embroidery Extra. Overall,
each block can be put together in an artistic quilt. The goal of 4D
Software Elements is to teach some of the great features we have in
our 4D Software and also to use the different hoop sizes - including
the creative Grand Dream Hoop and the Majestic Hoop.
The classes are $20 each and you must sign up for
the first six ($120). After you have completed the first six
classes, you will have the opportunity to take the last six. Linda
Bostwick will be teaching at the Speedway location.
The basic requirements are that you own 4D Embroider Extra. If
you don’t own the Suite or have a laptop, you can use one of ours
and see what you are missing.
